Its me again, back to do another blog.  Well, there are three more days until the 5th Annual Southern Vermont Fiber Event in Brattleboro, VT.  I am frantically working to get everything ready.  I'm packaging up roving,needle felting kits,labeling yarn, pricing items,and the list goes on and on.  It is such a lot of work but everyone has a great time.  I'm very excited about this years raffle and hope we sell a lot of tickets.

    I got a phone call on Sunday from someone looking for a ram.  He is in Connecticut and has 7 ewes.  I gave him a list of names and hopefully he will find a nice,good tempered ram. Its a lot of fun writing to other sheep people and comparing notes.  I ordered some roving from a farm in New York state for our fiber of the month club.  The package arrived yesterday and its just beautiful finn/cross roving in several shades.  Its so soft and creamy that it makes me drool just to hold it in my hands.  I can't wait to spin some of it. Amy told me I could pick out whichever color or colors I would like.  We wrote back and forth several time yesterday afternoon and evening. I went to her web site and fell in love with her finn sheep.  So of course, I asked her "Do you ever sell any of your sheep"?  She wrote back that she had a 7 month old lamb named Jonie that she had to sell or she would go for meat............Now, do you think I could let that happen?  I wrote back as fast as my fingers could type.  "Oh please,don't send her for meat.  Please let me buy her"! Well in December, I will be making a trip to outside of Albany, N.Y. to meet Amy and bring Jonie Jump Up home to Maybelle Farm!  I'm sooooo excited as she is 7/8 finn and 1/8 cheviot.  She has beautiful crimpy black fleece and I can't wait to get her here.  She was born May 4th,2009 just 4 days after my little Juliette.  Juliette is a coopworth/shetland cross and so she will have a playmate with Jonie coming to the farm.  Got to stop writing and go work on more things for the fiber event.  This is Baa, Maa,Maa from Maybelle Farm.
