Hello from Maybelle farm.  Its Sunday Feb. 7th and it has been very busy at the farm.  Declan my 2 1/2 yr. old grandson has been sick with asthma.  He went with Darcy and Todd to Dartmouth/Hitchcock to have a follow-up visit with the pediatric allergist.  He now has an asthma plan and hopefully that will keep him healthier.  Darcy went back to Darmouth/Hitchcock for a follow-up from her varicose vein surgery and is doing very well.  Poor little Rowan that is 5 yrs. old ended up being admitted to Brattleboro Hospital on Wednesday because of the flu,dehydration and pneumonia.  They sent her home Thursday evening after giving three bags of I.V. liquids and I.V. antibiotics.  She only weighs 35 lbs. and can't stand on her own.  She is such a tiny,sick little mite and I have been staying at the farm as much as I can.  We are having bitter cold weather and the wind chill is below zero.
 I also have a sick sheep.  My beautiful moorit ewe Maura has been sick and we are not sure if she got butted by one or several of the other ewes or what is going on.  I have been giving her liquid prednisone for two weeks and I think she is doing as well as can be expected.  She is 10 yrs. old and most of my sheep are getting old like me. I'm thinking of starting a geriatric farm for old sheep and have an "Ewe are Old" ward in the barn!  I could even put an old recliner out there for myself and spend time with the old ewes!
Got to go get to work on some cleaning here at home.  Oh yes, I do have a homecare job finally and its taking care of an elderly man.  I took care of his wife about 3-4 yrs. ago, so it makes it nice that I know him.  I will also be doing a Hospice case here in town for someone I've known my whole life.  Will write more in a few days.  Good-bye from Maybelle MaMa
