We currently have 47 sheep. I had to have my sweet “Tinka” put down about a month ago. She was almost 15 yrs. old and was blind. She was such a sweet Coopworth ewe and I miss her! I continue to work in my fiber studio making woodpeckers, puffins, pumpkins, gnomes, etc. I was a vendor with my friend Jenna on Labor Day weekend at the Green Mt. Spinnery in Putney,VT. I taught a needlefelting class “Make a Gnome” at the Brattleboro Museum on Oct. 8th with 18 students. I was also a vendor at the Townshend Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 15th with my friend Jenna.
The foliage has been spectacular this fall and there is still a little color left. Now we begin to get ready for winter. Darcy has been working so hard cleaning out the barn, setting up and taking down all the portable fencing and working on fence posts, etc. We were lucky to get hay and soon everyone will come back to the barn for winter. We have had great grazing for the sheep this fall and are grateful for another mild weekend in November So life is good at Maybelle Farm and we will get back to posting updates more often.
