It's Tuesday evening June 21st and its time to catch up on some things happening here. We had a really nice class at the farm this last Saturday June 19th. Cheryl Flett of CherylAvenue taught a wet felting class "Make your own pouch" Everyone had such a nice time and the weather was perfect. We were able to eat lunch outside under the trees and watch the sheep grazing in the pasture. We went to the barn to visit with all the other sheep and see some of the fleeces I have and several of the ones that will be used at this Saturdays class. Saturday June 26th Alison Schantz and Cheryl Flett will teach a class on How to pick out a fleece, skirt it, wash it, card it and prepare it for spinning, wet felting or whatever you want to use it for. This is going to be a wonderful class with a lot packed into a short time. We will be using Cocoa that is a moorit Shetland fleece, Maisie that is a light gray Shetland fleece, Aphrodite that is a beautiful black Shetland fleece and my little Lola Low Rider that is a white Shetland/cross.......... This is going to be certain fiber overload for all of individuals that just love fiber!!!!!!
Darcy, Rowan, Declan took me to my nephew Shawn's party on Saturday June 19th. It was such a nice party and Shawn, Dineen,Summer,Greer and Ayden really put on a wonderful picnic/party. It is such a peaceful place and their home is beautiful. I'm so happy for Shawn and his family, and thanks for inviting us.
Jonathan helped me today get several pastures mowed. The grass is growing way too fast and the poor sheep cannot even begin to keep up. I cut down lots of thistles in the pastures before Jonathan mowed them. I talked to Amy Cooke today about getting my new Finn sheep, Johnnie Jump Up is the mother and I'm only going to get the little ewe Pansy. They have someone that wants the little ram lamb....whew that will make it alot easier for me. I will be making plans to go meet her around Albany when I can work out the use of a pick-up.
I took Rowan and Declan to Little School in Weston,Vt. today and picked them up this afternoon. I will do the same thing again tomorrow and we have an afternoon ice cream date. Rowan had a sleep-over with YaYa ( that's me) last night. She thinks its a real treat to come down here to my house, especially when I go pick her up in her nightgown and bring her home and tuck her in. She was asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.
My little white ram lamb Percy is growing and his little horns are really showing up now. He is a little clown and stands up in his pen and reaches out and bops the other sheep on the head with his little hoof. Well, I think that is about all the news from Maybelle Farm for now. Good-night from Maybelle MaMa.
