I was suppose to have a needlefelting class at noon but I have decided to cancel it. It looks like the whole day is going to be rain/sleet and just plain yucky weather. We were going to make a traditional or Victorian Santa. It's such fun to watch their facial expressions come to life. Oh well, that is winter weather for you. So now I'm going to clean for awhile and wrap a few presents and basically play away the day!!!!!WHEEEEEE. I have lots of leftovers so I don't even have to cook anything for supper.
I just walked up to the little manger to see my sheep and took some pictures that I will attach to this blog. Thistle was in the manger and the girls are all outside getting snowed/sleeted on and he is like King Tut in the manger chewing his cud like "Look at those foolish women out in the storm!" I am going to buy Thistle from Donna at Kindred Spirit Farm and possibly two other ewes. Donna has to downsize for personal reasons and I love her sheep. Donna loves her sheep like I do and I want to help her out as I know I would be so sad to have to sell my sheep, but it would at least be bearable if I knew they would go to a good home and be loved. I will love these sheep as much as my own and they are truly beautiful.
Yesterday I went with my son David, and his children Austin and Ella. We took Jack (their little basset-hound/lab puppy) too and went shopping. We went to Brattleboro first looking for a strobe light for David's plow truck, ate lunch at McDonald's and then up to Walpole, N.H. to Tractor Supply for chicken pellets and a few Christmas presents. We stopped where Rachel works in Bellow Falls and had Latte and the children had hot chocolate. We got home about 5:15 p.m. and I went to do chores.
Darcy, Rowan and Declan came down to have supper with Jonathan, David, Austin and Ella and we had a very nice time. I had made a pot roast in the crock pot that was yummy delicious with mashed potatoes, corn, tossed salad, and juice for the children. It was a nice evening with a lot of laughter. I really enjoy getting to spend time with my children and grandchildren and feel very lucky that they live very close by.
Well, I guess its time to go clean the house for a bit then wrap some presents. Hope all is well with everyone and stay safe in this yucky weather. So-long from Maybelle MaMa.
P.S. Below is Juliette looking very iced-over and also Thistle looking very dry and comfortable!
