My beautiful Snowflake, a Border-Lleicester/Shetland cross, had adorable twin lambs friday night April 18th. She had a little black/white spotted ram lamb that weighed 6 lbs. and we named "Norman". Next she had an 8 lb. sweet little black ewe with white markings on her head that we named "Nellie". They are such sweet, lovable, little lambs and we certainly are thrilled. Now we are waiting for Opal, my very large Border-Leicester/Cormo cross ewe that I bred with a Shetland ram. I think Star, my one Shetland ewe that I bred, will lamb at the end of April. Omega, my Tunis/cross, does not look like she will lamb but she could surprise me! My ewe Lyra certainly put one past me last year when both the Vet and shearer did not think she was pregnant. SURPRISE!! Little Faleen was waiting in the barn for me on Mother's Day!
Well, its time to go move some sheep into a front pasture and that will free up some more pasture close to the barn. So-long from Maybelle farm and Maybelle MaMa.
