We are getting close to my favorite part of the farm year. We will be lambing about the third week in April so the Vet is coming to give CD & T shots and check the ewes for me this week. We are waiting to hear back from the shearer and which we try to get that done 2-3 weeks before lambing. April is a very busy month on the farm. We also have two farm birthdays to celebrate. Declan's birthday is April 5th and Rowan's is April 23rd. We are very hopeful that Florence or Fergie will lamb on Rowan's birthday!
Needle felting classes in February and March have been such fun. Thank you to Nancy for hosting them! We needle felted chickens, fairies, and a Leprechaun. We have also had spinning workshops at the Wardsboro Town Hall. Thank you to Patty Blomgren for teaching wonderful fun classes. We also have a nice lunch so there is a lot of spinning, talking, laughing and eating.......who could ask for anything more!
This is about all for now but I did forget that with the arrival of rain to melt all our snow, we head into mud season! UGH My nephews Norman and Tim with their families have tapped out here on the hill and are boiling in my Father's old sugar house. It is so nice to see the family continue this and the smell is just wonderful.
Happy Spring to everyone. So-long from Maybelle MaMa.
