When Jonathan and I were first married, we went to the Choate School in Wallingford, Connecticut for Thanksgiving. His father had taught there for many years and his mother was a librarian at the school. I was used to being with my whole entire family of 5 brothers and my sister and lots of nieces and nephews with real home cooked food!!! I'm not saying the food wasn't good at the Choate School but it sure wasn't like being home. As they say, there's no place like home!
David's family is going to have Thanksgiving dinner at Brian Coleman's house. He is Rachel's brother and lives in West Dover,VT. Holidays are hard to try to work out so everyone is happy and doing what they want so I guess this is a good solution. I will either fix a meal for David's family later this weekend or we will go out with them later in the weekend.
Yesterday I was in little "Piggy Heaven"..........the fiber studio is finished inside and I was putting away plastic tubs of wool in the closets and arranging things in the studio. I am "giddy" about the studio and having a place to work and play. This Saturday I will have the studio open from 10-2 p.m. to sell supplies for people that are spinning or working on fiber projects. We will also be selling gift certificates for the first time this year that can be used for Christmas presents.
This Sunday Cheryl Flett is teaching a needle felting class to make Angels and Snowmen. The class is almost full but there is still a space or two. You can call or e-mail me and save a spot.
Jonathan and I are going to Sandwich, New Hampshire this coming Wed. Dec. 1st to pick up Thistle ( the handsome ram from my last blog) and he will come meet his 4 new girlfriends. That will give us lambs about the end of April. That should be good timing because I plan shearing about three weeks before lambing and I don't like to make it too early as they are so cold without their wool. Maybe I should knit little jackets for the old girls and I could make different colored ones for each girl.
Well... Jonathan is getting ready to go now so I will close and wish everyone a very Happy Day.
So-long from Maybelle MaMa
