We had a lot of fun earlier this month in the Wardsboro 4th of July parade. We won Second Place for our float and were awarded a beautiful red ribbon. I was excited because I had all four of my grandchildren on the float and Darcy even joined us on the ride back through the street.
I am slowly working on the fleeces and yarn to get things listed on our Etsy shop and our Farm Store the Maybelle Farm website. Darcy will be helping me get a list together of sheep we are putting up for sale. I have a couple of our bigger Border Leicester sheep that will be going to a new farm soon. But need to I simply must downsize before winter. We also have a small group of some elderly sheep that most likely will not make it through another winter. We currently have 48 sheep - which is A LOT of hay and the barn is getting too full of fleeces.
We have been working on cleaning out the barn and checking and repairing fences. There is always something to be done or fixed. We could use some rain but at least there is plenty of grass for the sheep and life is good here at Maybelle Farm.
So-long from Maybelle MaMa.
