Roger was up with coffee all made and english muffins. His dog Clifford also had several english muffins that morning, he helped himself as they were thawing on the counter!!!!!!!!!! Saturday was a beautiful day and WOW what a crowd of people. It's a wonderful fair and I could not believe how much stuff I was selling. About 4 p.m. it started to rain so we packed up everything and loaded it back in the van. We went back to Ken and Donna's house and then out to dinner to a really nice Italian restaurant. We had such fun eating and visiting, so much laughing too! We went back to stay at my cousin Roger's house but they had gone out to a play. Jonathan went to bed about 9 p.m. and I went up at 10 p.m. We didn't even hear them come home and slept until the alarm rang at 5:45 a.m.
Rog and Robin were up early too and made us a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, english muffins, juice and coffee. Wow, what a way to start the day! It was a cold, windy day and so I sold lots of knitted hats and beautiful wool socks. We packed up at 5 p.m. and headed for home. We stopped in Claremont, N.H. for supper and got home about 9:30 p.m. Our dog Lettie was very excited to see us and happy we were home. We were exhausted and happy to hit the hay.
It was such a help to have both Darcy and David taking care of all the sheep, chickens and dog while we were away. The grandchildren also helped take care of the animals and the farm. It's the only way we could leave for several days to be vendors. I can't wait to go back for next year and we will be vendors for all three days. It was such a thrill to sell so much stuff and actually make money. Now I can buy hay for the sheep to get through the winter. I have had to start feeding out hay already when last year the sheep were able to graze until into mid-November.
Jonathan's new chickens are now over 6 months old and just started to lay eggs. The eggs are about the size of a ping-pong ball but still exciting to get the first ones. The chickens are Golden Wyandottes and are such pretty chickens. The raccoons are now checking out the chicken food container,,,,,,,,,
Well that is about all that is happening here at the farm and so I will close for now. So-Long from Maybelle MaMa.
