Blog Part I:
Hello again from Maybelle Farm. Its Sunday June 30th and we have gone 24 hours without rain! June has been nothing but rain for day in and day out. The poor sheep need some nice sunny weather to get out in fields that are not swamps! It has been a very busy month here at the farm. There is always a lot to do but it seems like this month has been especially busy. The lightning hit the barn, threw all the circuits and fried my fence charger!! Whewww... that was scary, as I saw the lightning hit the barn! I had moved most of the sheep into the barn because it said it was going to be a very bad storm. We were lucky it didn't do more damage, or set the barn on fire!
There at 47 sheep here at Maybelle Farm this summer, which is a lot of sheep for me to manage. I had my Tap Dance Recital on Friday June 21st and everyone did such a great job. I'm thinking about putting the video of the fathers dancing to the "Apache"song on our website! It was just too funny! My daughter and grandchildren all are out of school for the summer. Darcy's family left Friday night after the dance recital to drive first to Johnstown,NY to stay overnight, then on to the Thousand Islands for a week.
I have been working in home care at two different jobs this spring/summer and now have stopped as my husband is headed into 8 weeks of radiation, five days a week in Bennington. I will work two nights a week but need to be available to go with Jonathan. He has been helping manage the farm while Darcy is away. I'm finding it a lot harder these days to take care of everything. I still think I'm 25 but actually am 65 and the "old gray mare, ain't what she used to be"!!!
I had to have hay delivered because I can't put sheep out in portable without the electric charger working. I tried it in my daughter's backyard and the mother ewes and lambs went through the portable and cleaned up her flower beds and roses. I also bought a beautiful green hay saver.........hay feeder. This immediately became a playground piece of equipment for the lambs. They jump into the tray....and launch themselves through the air..........WHEEEEEEE!! A very expensive toy for lambs, but will hopefully save me wasted hay at feeding time!
Well, my main reason for writing this blog is to say " Happy 4th of July" from all of us here at Maybelle Farm. So-long from Maybelle MaMa.

Hello from Maybelle Farm. On Saturday June 29th we had a wonderful Wet Felting Class. We made Wet Felted flowers that you can see in the pictures and also did some Wet Felted Beads. This was a Beginner class and it was great fun to try different techniques. We made thick flowers, thin flowers and the beads. I will be listing more classes for the summer. If you have a class that you would like to do, please either e-mail me or call me and I will be happy to set up a class. Thank you to my students from the Saturday class. It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoyed the class.
