It's Sunday night Nov. 7th and I have finished quite a week. I left last Monday at about 11:30 a.m. to go up to stay at the Lake Morey Inn for the Women in Sustainable Agriculture convention. It was Monday through Wednesday and I had the most beautiful room that looked out over the lake. I can't remember the last time I went to stay by myself somewhere that did not involve homecare. Darcy, David, Austin and Jonathan took care of the sheep and the farm where I was away. They did an excellent job and made it so I could go away and not worry about anything!
Tuesday I went on a farm tour to the Luna Bleu Farm and the Fat Rooster Farm. Both were working farms that sold beef, pork, chicken, eggs and the Fat Rooster sold lamb. They both had an apprentice that lived at their farms and it was interesting to see how that whole process worked. We ate a boxed lunch at the Luna Bleu Farm and then went to the Fat Rooster Farm. We had a really nice dinner and a speaker after the meal. Wednesday I went to two workshops and then headed for home after lunch.
Friday started a three day vending weekend at Mt. Snow for the Northeast Hand Spinners "The Gathering". I was very nervous about being a vendor there but Cheryl Flett of CherylAvenue was beside me and that made it a lot easier. It was fun to be with other vendors but I definitely think it should have been open to the public with better advertising done for it.
It's now Sunday evening and I've come down with a cold. I guess it was too much fun for the last week and I got really tired. I am going to put on some cute pictures of my grandchildren with the wool christmas wreaths I was hoping to sell and didn't. I'm also going to put on some pictures of vending at Mt. Snow.
My son David and grandson Austin arrived to get the dog crate I use to carry sheep. They are going to Connecticut tomorrow morning to pick up a new puppy. He is a little 11 week old Bassador puppy, that is a cross between a Bassethound and a Labrador. David said he has little short front legs and long back legs so he will be going downhill all the time! HAHA He was only joking! I think! The puppy is black with a little white chest and looks so cute in the picture. They have come down to two names "Spike" or "Brutus"........ Austin says "Spike" and David says "Brutus" so who will win??????? Well I'm off to bed, on top of being so tired from the busy week, the time change really throws everyone off. Goodnight from Maybelle MaMa.
